HUDA’S TRIUMPH: BORN TOO SOON Little Huda arrived early, gasping for life in a world unprepared for her needs. Her desperate family brought her to the Indus Hospital & Health Network, where team of professional doctors placed her on a ventilator. Every call from the hospital shattered her mother’s heart, “Whenever the hospital would call and tell us our Huda had gotten worse, I would just break down and pray that nothing happens to my daughter.” Huda’s mother found strength in constant prayers. Indus Hospital’s excellent care brought Huda back. When she finally grasped her mother’s finger, hope was reborn. Now a thriving child, Huda’s milestones are celebrated, each one a testament to Indus’s unwavering dedication to maternal and neonatal health, a gift her family cherishes every day.
THE GAME-CHANGER: SAIM’S BATTLE It was a pleasant Saturday morning, and Saim was preparing for a football match at his school in Karachi. Little did he know his life was about to change forever. The 17-year-old's world came crashing down when after a sudden, excruciating pain in his back, Saim collapsed on the field. A lump revealed a grim diagnosis: Bone Cancer. With his family struggling financially, the chances seemed bleak. Yet, the Indus Hospital opened its doors, offering hope where there was none. Despite being the only child his age in the ward, Saim found solace in stories of survival, especially from the counselors who nurtured his spirit. After a year of grueling treatment, Saim emerged cancer-free, determined to build a future for his family. His dream? To take them on Hajj one day.
MINAHIL'S COURAGE: A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE When 17-year-old Minahil was diagnosed with cancer, the shock consumed her. She wanted to spare her family the burden of her treatment. Her friends began to distance themselves from her, under the false notion that cancer was a contagious disease. Minahil never really recovered from that shock. Despairing and lost, she closed herself off from the rest of the world. Then, her family was referred to Indus Hospital & Health Network. The caring staff at IHHN nurtured her spirit, helping her fight back. Amid the harsh effects of chemotherapy, Minahil found comfort in the hospital’s community. Her strength grew as she watched other young warriors fight alongside her. Now, as a medical student and advocate, Minahil channels her pain into purpose, ensuring that no child faces the battle alone.
FAIZAN'S FIGHT FOR SOUND: A SILENT WORLD, REBORN At 16, Faizan’s future was a dark blur of isolation. Gradually losing his hearing since childhood, he faced daily battles, struggling to connect, feeling cut off from a world he couldn’t fully perceive. Despair loomed as hearing aids failed him. Just when he and his family thought hope was lost, they found Indus Hospital's Cochlear Implant Program. Faizan was taken under treatment and provided quality end-to-end care, completely free of cost. The medical team became his lifeline, pulling him from a future of silence into one of sound. “They saved me from a life of dependency and despair,” Faizan shares gratefully. Three years later, he’s back in school and designing graphics, his creative spark reignited. “Thank you, Indus Hospital, for giving me my life back!”
FROM PATIENT TO ADVOCATE: SUFYAN’S STORY In 2008, 12-year-old Sufyan was diagnosed with cancer, and his world turned upside down. Struggling with treatment costs, his family found hope at Indus Hospital, where his treatment was free. The journey was tough, and the chemotherapy left him isolated, with no friends, and lost confidence. But he never gave up. After three years of fighting, Sufyan was declared cancer-free. Now, a survivor at 23, he works at the Indus Hospital, inspiring young patients. He feels it is his duty to share with patients that there is nothing to be afraid of. "You can beat cancer," he tells them, "I am proof that recovery is possible." His story is one of transformation, from patient to a beacon of hope.
